Frequently asked questions
What is Myzo?
Myzo is a productivity and gamification app for kids with ADHD. It breaks school assignments into 25-minute focus blocks with 5-minute breaks, rewards effort with XP and badges, and gives parents real-time visibility. There are two apps: Myzo Kids (for the child) and Myzo Parents (for you).
How does the free trial work?
You get a 14-day free trial that starts the moment you subscribe. We don't charge until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then.
What happens after the free trial?
When the 14-day trial ends, your paid subscription starts automatically at whatever plan and price you signed up on. You can cancel any time before then and you won't be charged.
Is Myzo COPPA-compliant?
Yes. Myzo is designed from the ground up around COPPA. Kids never create accounts, never share email addresses, never chat with anyone in the app, and can never post photos. All child data is tied to your parent account, and you can request full deletion at any time.
What if my child shares my device? Can I have both apps on one phone?
Yes. You can install both Myzo Parents and Myzo Kids on the same iPhone and share the device between you and your kid. Pairing works even without a second phone: on the QR code screen in Myzo Parents, take a screenshot of the code, open the screenshot in Photos, long-press on the QR code inside the image, and tap the link that appears. That opens Myzo Kids directly at the PIN entry step. From then on, switch between the two apps like any other apps on the phone.
How do I set up the kids app on a new device?
In the Parents app, open your child's Settings tab and tap Device Access > Show Setup QR. You'll see a QR code. Open the Kids app on the child's device, scan the code, then have the child pick their PIN. That's it.
What if my child gets a new phone or switches devices?
Everything your child has earned — XP, rewards, tasks, flash cards, grades, achievements — lives on our servers, not on the phone itself. Install Myzo Kids on the new device, tap 'NEW PHONE — Move my account here' on the welcome screen, then in the Myzo Parents app open your child's dashboard → settings → Swap Device. A fresh QR code appears; scan it with the new device's camera, tap the link banner that pops up, and have your child enter their PIN. The old device signs itself out the instant the new one pairs, and if the old device is broken or lost the same flow works — the Swap Device QR doesn't care whether the old one is around.
How much should I set my rewards to cost in XP?
Kids earn 1 XP per task inside a focus session and 5 XP per session completed, plus bonus XP as achievement milestones land. A child doing one 4-task session on school nights earns roughly ~200 XP per week, or about ~800 XP per month. A few tips: if a reward can be earned in a single session it's probably too cheap; if it takes more than a month of steady effort it's probably too expensive; and mixing a small 'earn today' reward with a bigger 'earn by the weekend' one and a 'save up for' one keeps motivation steady at every distance. Watch what your kid actually redeems and adjust up or down from there. Rewards are yours to price — the numbers above are just a starting point.
The kids app won't scan the QR code.
Make sure the kids device's camera has permission (Settings > Myzo Kids > Camera). Also try increasing your parent phone's brightness so the QR code is easier to read. If it still won't scan, tap 'Enter code manually' in the kids app and type the six-digit fallback code shown on the parent screen.
My child forgot their PIN.
In the Parents app, tap Settings > Children > (your child) > Reset PIN. They'll be able to set a new one from their kids device.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancellation depends on where you subscribed. If you signed up on getmyzo.com, go to Account and manage your subscription there. If you subscribed inside the app on iPhone (Apple), open iPhone Settings, tap your Apple ID at the top, then Subscriptions. Either way you'll keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be billed again.
Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?
Not automatically. If you subscribed on getmyzo.com, cancel your subscription in Account before deleting your Myzo account, otherwise Paddle will keep billing. If you subscribed on iPhone (Apple), cancel in iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions before deleting your Myzo account, otherwise Apple will keep billing. Once both are cancelled, deleting your Myzo account removes all your data.
