Myzo

Subscription + billing

How Myzo's plans, trial, payment options, and cancellation work.

Subscription + billing

Every Myzo Family Account needs an active subscription. This page covers the plan options, the 14-day free trial, how billing works depending on where you signed up, and how to cancel or change plans.

Choosing a plan

At the end of onboarding (right after you add your first child) you land on the Choose your plan screen. You'll see two tabs at the top:

  • Monthly
  • Annual (the "best deal" — same features, priced lower per month)

Below the tabs, two side-by-side payment options:

  • Web Checkout (opens getmyzo.com in your browser) — routed through Paddle, our web merchant of record. Slightly discounted pricing.
  • App Store (Apple in-app purchase) — routed through Apple's standard subscription sheet. Same 14-day trial, priced at what Apple requires to cover their 30% cut.

Both options unlock the same features. Pick the one that suits how you want to be billed. You can always cancel from wherever you subscribed.

What's included

One Family Account covers everything Myzo does:

  • Unlimited kid profiles
  • Task creation, focus sessions, flashcards
  • XP + rewards
  • Cross-device sync (works across all your kids' phones + your parent device)
  • All future features on your tier

The free trial

You get a 14-day free trial that starts the moment you subscribe. The trial is the same length whether you pick Web Checkout or App Store.

  • We don't charge you a cent during the trial.
  • You can cancel any time in those 14 days and you won't be billed.
  • When the trial ends, your first billing period starts automatically at the price you selected. You'll get an email a few days before the charge as a heads-up.

Managing your subscription after signup

Open the Myzo Parents app → Settings → Subscription. What you see depends on how you signed up:

  • Web Checkout (Paddle): manage plan, change payment method, download invoices, cancel — all inside the Paddle portal (opens in your browser).
  • App Store (Apple): the settings screen sends you to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, which is where Apple keeps all subscription controls for anything you bought inside an app.

Cancelling

Cancellation always goes through wherever you originally subscribed.

If you subscribed via Web Checkout (Paddle):

  1. Open Myzo Parents → Settings → Subscription → Manage (opens Paddle in your browser).
  2. Sign in with your Myzo email.
  3. Click Cancel subscription.

If you subscribed via App Store (Apple):

  1. Open iPhone Settings (the system app, not Myzo).
  2. Tap your name at the top → Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Myzo Parents → Cancel Subscription.

Either way, you keep access through the end of the billing period you already paid for. No pro-rata refunds — that's the standard for subscription apps on both Apple and Paddle.

Changing plans

If you want to switch monthly ↔ annual, or upgrade after the trial:

  • Paddle subscribers: Manage → Change plan in the Paddle portal. Change takes effect at your next billing period; you keep your current plan until then.
  • Apple subscribers: iPhone Settings → Subscriptions → Myzo Parents → tap the plan you want to switch to. Apple handles the proration.

Refunds

Refund requests go through the payment processor that billed you, not through Myzo directly:

Approved refunds land back on the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Referral codes

Every parent gets a unique referral code you can share from Settings → Share my code.

Questions we hear a lot

Can I have both a Paddle and an Apple subscription at the same time? Only one active subscription per Myzo account. If you already have one active, the plan-selection screen won't show — you're already covered.

Can I switch from Paddle to Apple (or vice versa) later? Not directly. You'd need to cancel the current one at the end of its billing period and subscribe again through the other channel. Not common, but supported.

What if I forget to cancel before the trial ends? You'll be charged for one billing period. You can still cancel after that first charge — you'll keep access to what you paid for through the end of that period, and no further charges will run.

Do I get charged more per kid? No. One subscription covers your whole family regardless of how many kid profiles you add.
